Job summary

Kodiakmwr is hiring a Full-Time Child Care Assistant at the Alameda Child Development Center in Alameda, CA. The role supports early childhood education, helps implement age-appropriate activities, and contributes to a safe, engaging learning environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, English fluency, and at least one year of experience with children. You will help with daily reports, supervision, and meals as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• One year of general experience working with children.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and both indoors and outdoors.
• Must pass Tier 1 background investigation and Civilian Medical Clearance.
• Preferred: Two years of education beyond high school or a one-year childcare certificate.

Responsibilities

• Plans and executes age-appropriate early childhood education experiences.
• Works with director and teachers to develop curriculum and activities.
• Promotes positive child and youth interactions with others.
• Assists in providing and leading planned activities for participants.
• Monitors and ensures safety of children in class, on playground, and during bus loading areas.
• Assists with snacks/meals as applicable.
