Job summary

Kodiakmwr in Kodiak, AK is seeking a part-time Child Care Assistant (Developmental) to support the Child Development Center. The position is intermittent (0-19 hours/week) with a starting wage of $16.71 per hour.

Responsibilities include planning early childhood education activities and ensuring child safety and well-being. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, ability to read, write and speak English, and the physical capacity to lift up to 45 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
• Ability to foster effective working relationships with children, youth, and coworkers.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds and work indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to pass Tier 1 background investigation and periodic checks.
• Ability to pass Civilian Medical Clearance examinations as required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute early childhood education experiences to promote development.
• Assist in developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Maintain safe environment and monitor children in all areas of the facility.
• Interact with children, staff, parents, and the command in a professional manner.
• Perform routine care giving tasks and complete required reports.
