Job summary

Kodiak MWR in Kodiak, AK seeks a Child Care Assistant (Dev) to provide developmentally appropriate activities and support for children in the Child Development Center.

The role collaborates with the director and staff to implement curriculum, supervise safety, and maintain daily reports and attendance records.

Successful candidates will meet minimum education and background requirements, pass health and background checks, and be prepared for a developmental career path.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 18+.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to promote positive relationships with children and coworkers.
• Physical ability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform outdoor/indoor activities.
• Ability to complete Tier 1 background checks and periodic medical clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute early childhood activities to support development.
• Assist in implementing age-appropriate curriculum with staff.
• Maintain safe environment and supervise children in all areas.
• Prepare indoor/outdoor areas and monitor daily schedules.
• Complete daily reports and participate in program activities.
