Job summary

USCG Base Cape Cod MWR is seeking a Full Time Child Care Assistant to support Alameda CDC. The role involves planning activities, supervising children, and maintaining a safe, engaging environment in Alameda, CA. Strong communication with staff, parents, and leadership is expected.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, English proficiency, and at least one year of experience with children. A background check and medical clearance are required, with further qualifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• One year of general experience working with children or youth.
• Must lift and carry up to 45 pounds and be physically able to perform duties indoors and outdoors.
• Must pass Tier 1 background investigation and Civilian Medical Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute early childhood education experiences with varied materials to promote development.
• Assist in developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Maintain safe program environments and supervise children in various settings.
• Prepare and arrange indoor/outdoor activities; monitor and ensure safety at all times.
