City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle and high schools, helping them reach academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. Training begins with 2–4 weeks of onboarding, and you work closely with partner teachers and school staff.

You will support 1:1 and small-group tutoring, literacy/math activities, behavior management, and classroom engagement while contributing to school-wide initiatives.

Formación

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident and eligible to work in the U.S.
• Age 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
• Must be able to begin by July/August 2025.

Responsabilidades

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to support academic success.
• Develop literacy and math activities, prompting assignment completion.
• Create and implement a behavior management system.
• Foster interpersonal skills using structured strategies of learning, practice, and reflection.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and participate in data reviews.
• Help build an engaging, safe classroom space in collaboration with the teacher.
• Support after-school and extended-day programs, including enrichment and clubs.
