City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels, focusing on academic success, attendance, and positive behaviors. You’ll plan progress, partner with teachers, and support in-class and after-school activities to foster student growth.

Training is provided, and you’ll work with school staff to monitor data and progress. Stipends and AmeriCorps benefits support your service year in a community-focused role.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in the U.S. as a City Year AmeriCorps member.
• Be 17–25 years old by July 1, 2025.
• GED or high school diploma, or some college experience.
• Commitment to completing a full AmeriCorps term and background check.
• Ability to begin in July/August 2025.

Responsabilités

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math skills with differentiated activities.
• Create and implement behavior management systems.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress.
• Support extended day and after-school programs.
• Help create an engaging, safe classroom environment.
