Job summary

SmithRx is building the next-generation PBM platform. The Engineering team focuses on scalable backend and frontend features, using Go, GraphQL, SQL, React, and JavaScript/TypeScript to deliver real-time insights and a superior customer experience.

The role involves collaboration with stakeholders, architectural design, AWS-based batch processing, thorough testing, and continuous improvement through code reviews and adoption of new AI tools.

Qualifications

• BS or advanced degree in computer science or applicable experience.
• 3–5 years software development experience.
• Experience with Go, Java, C, or C++ (Go a plus).
• Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience designing scalable solutions; knowledge of design patterns, database design, and testing best practices.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational DBs (schema design, SQL tuning).
• GraphQL, open source APIs, CI/CD, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes experience (a plus).
• Experience using GenAI tools to deliver production software (a plus).

Responsibilities

• Focus on back-end and front-end codebase to develop SmithRx product features using Go, GraphQL, SQL, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node, and Java.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and technical leads to understand requirements and deliver scalable software.
• Provide scope and risk estimates for system and feature builds by creating technical design documentation.
• Apply software development best practices, design patterns, tools and technologies.
• Leverage GraphQL, React, and GORM to extend the platform as needed.
• Utilize AWS technologies (Lambda, Fargate) for job handling and batch processing.
• Ensure code is fully tested with appropriate coverage and well documented.
• Troubleshoot production issues with root cause analysis and mitigation plans.
• Contribute to code reviews and exploring new technologies.
• Seek and share GenAI tools to improve delivery speed and quality.
