Job summary

SmithRx is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to build and scale our backend data platform for drug data. You will design interfaces, work with Golang, GraphQL, Node, and SQL, and collaborate with frontend and product teams to deliver features.

You will drive availability, performance, and architecture decisions across the Drug Access team. You will mentor teammates, contribute to quarterly roadmaps, and explore AI tools to boost delivery speed and quality.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with Go or similar compiled languages and API design.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend features with scalable architectures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Provide estimates for system and feature builds with design documentation.
• Apply software engineering best practices, testing, and automation.
• Leverage AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, RDS) for batch processing.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to quarterly roadmaps.
