Job summary
Amazon in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager to lead site operations, coaching a team of Operations and Area Managers toward safety, quality and on-time performance.
You will drive Lean initiatives, set performance expectations, collaborate with HR, Finance and Facilities, and ensure continuous improvement across inbound or outbound functions within the Fulfillment Center. This strategic role requires balancing operational excellence with people development and delivering results
Qualifications
- 7+ years direct management experience in manufacturing, production or distribution
- Experience with performance metrics and Lean techniques
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; MBA preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Oversee overall performance of inbound or outbound operation including safety, quality and customer experience.
- Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measure performance and provide feedback.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers to secure resources for projects.
- Drive Lean initiatives and process changes to help the FC meet and exceed business plans.
