Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager in Petersburg, VA to oversee budget, people development, and site objectives within a Fulfillment Center. You will lead and coach Operations and Area Managers, balance operational excellence with leadership development, and drive results across the facility.

The role requires a strategic leader with Lean experience, strong relationship-building, and ability to manage safety, quality, and customer experience in a high‑volume environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years direct management experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.

Responsibilities

• Leads development and implementation of quality improvement and process optimization initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Responsible for overall performance of either Inbound or Outbound operation, including safety, quality and customer experience.
• Sets and clarifies requirements for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance and provides feedback.
• Leverages Operations and Area Managers by sourcing ideas and rolling them into improvement plans.
• Ensures best practices are shared across departments, shifts and the network.
• Works with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers to secure support and resources.
