Job summary

Flexport in Phillipsburg, NJ is seeking a high-potential Area Manager to lead a large fulfillment team on site. You will coach 30-100 associates, enforce policies, and drive safety, security, and loss-prevention while reporting performance and partnering with Growth and Engineering to resolve complex issues.

You will be responsible for inventory accuracy, on-time receiving and shipping, and packing quality, with a focus on SLA adherence and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing staff of 5 or more.
• Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
• Must be able to work in a loud environment with varying temperatures (60–90+ F).
• Able to work on a secure mezzanine up to 40 feet high.
• Willing to work shifts that may include overnights, holidays, and part of weekends.
• Collaboration with internal/external partners to boost performance and quality.
• Clear communication on decisions, risks, and new processes.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving to drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coach, manage, and develop a team of 30-100.
• Communicate policies and act as the primary information source for the team.
• Create, manage, and support recognition programs.
• Support safety programs and OSHA compliance.
• Ensure procedures for building security and loss prevention.
• Own performance reporting for on-time receiving/shipping, inventory, and packing quality.
• Maintain SLA performance with clear verbal and written reports.
• Troubleshoot with cross-functional teams for fulfillment issues.
• Serve as escalation point to mitigate risks.
• Address inventory accuracy gaps and drive root-cause initiatives.
• Review defect rates to identify improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to SOPs and share learnings.
• Prioritize systemic problem resolution with Growth and Engineering teams.
