Job summary

WOW! Detroit seeks a Field Technician to maintain and repair the FTTH network from hubsites to passive nodes, including PON and power supplies. You will assist training, perform routine tests with SLM, VOM, OTDR and power meters, and support day-to-day engineering and operations activities.

Responsibilities include cordoning and balancing OLTs, executing basic underground and aerial construction for PON, and ensuring FCC/NESC compliance. Must be able to work flexible hours and lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of System Maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Industry standard fiber certifications a plus.
• MS Suite, Internet software, E-mail; basic Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hubsite/OTN hardware and powering needs.
• Test FTTH/PON/HFC components with SLM, VOM, OTDR and optical power meter.
• Perform routine remote OLT setup and balancing.
• Perform basic underground and aerial construction duties for PON operations.
• Troubleshoot light, RF, AC and DC paths for transmission quality.
