Job summary

Surf Broadband Solutions is seeking a Service Delivery Technician I for the Monroe/Brighton, MI area. This frontline, customer-facing role performs FTTH installations, basic troubleshooting, and field support in residential settings.

You will learn and apply technical knowledge, handle equipment up to 75+ pounds, and travel across Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois to service multiple sites. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Good communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced field environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform FTTH fiber installations and some service repair calls at residential locations.
• Conduct fiber signal performance testing using a signal meter and test cord.
• Execute Wi-Fi signal mapping and provide extension recommendations for mesh networks.
• Troubleshoot basic fiber drop issues and connectivity problems.
• Understand and apply basic electronics, connectivity principles, and diagnostic procedures.
• Climb ladders on poles and other network elements; operate safely.
