Job summary

Pearson is seeking a forward deployed engineer to embed with internal stakeholders, delivering production AI applications end-to-end. You will own frontend, backend, data, and deployment, turning ambiguous problems into working software that ships with real user impact.

Expect close collaboration with business lines, rapid iteration, and responsibility for platform-wide patterns and observability. You will operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment, leveraging state-of-the-art AI tooling

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience with production systems
• Strong CS fundamentals, data structures and system design
• Frontend depth with Modern React and TypeScript
• Backend depth in Node.js, Java, and Python
• Production LLM experience with prompts, agents, and retrieval
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding
• Data fluency with databases and Python data tooling
• Cloud and deployment fluency (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Integration experience with SSO, OAuth, APIs, internal platforms
• High agency, cross-team collaboration and strong communication

Responsibilities

• Go where the problem is and design end-to-end systems with stakeholders
• Conduct real discovery by sitting with users and translating needs into buildable solutions
• Build during the conversations and ship working software quickly
• Handle messy inputs and convert them into coherent architectures
• Ship production AI applications on frontier LLMs and agents
• Own the full stack including frontend, backend, data, deployments, and observability
• Codify patterns and share them with platform/engineering teams for re-use
• Maintain long-term relationships with lines of business and evolve deployments
