Job summary

Pearson’s PSG-CP team seeks a forward deployed engineer who works where the problem is, delivering software that addresses real needs. You will embed with internal stakeholders to ship production AI applications end-to-end, owning the full stack and driving adoption across Pearson.

You’ll operate autonomously in ambiguity, collaborating with executives and engineers to build usable solutions that meet real business needs. This is a high-impact, applied engineering role at Pearson.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience shipping production systems.
• Strong CS fundamentals and system design.
• Frontend depth with React and TypeScript.
• Backend depth across Node.js, Java, and Python.
• Production LLM experience and agent development.
• Cloud and deployment fluency (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD.
• Data fluency with databases and Python tooling.
• High agency to navigate ambiguity and own outcomes.
• Excellent communication with executives and engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Go where the problem is and design end-to-end systems with stakeholders.
• Conduct real discovery by observing users and translating needs into builds.
• Ship working software quickly by building during conversations.
• Handle messy inputs and convert into coherent solutions.
• Deploy production AI apps on frontier LLMs and agents.
• Iterate across engagements with evolving requirements.
• Own the full stack from frontend to observability.
• Codify patterns and share improvements with platform teams.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with lines of business.
