Job summary

Compass is seeking a Software Engineer II in the Transaction Journey organization to build frontend features for Forms and eSign, helping real estate agents streamline transactions and serve buyers and sellers more effectively. You will collaborate with multiple teams and become a SME on the relevant components.

You will work with product and design teams, write high-quality, well-tested code in React/Typescript, and contribute to a scalable, user-friendly platform.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-4 years of software engineering experience developing well-tested, high-performance applications.
• 2+ years of experience with Typescript, Javascript, and HTML/CSS.
• 2+ years of experience with React and NodeJS.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and implementation trade-offs.
• Dedication to software testing best practices using Cypress and Jest.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (like ClaudeCode or GitHub Copilot) is a plus.
• Nice to have backend experience in Java, Go, or Python.
• Familiarity with AWS, event-driven systems (Kafka), and modern CI/CD tooling is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop core Frontend components for Forms and eSign products.
• Drive quality by writing maintainable tests and minimizing defects.
• Improve operational excellence with monitoring and on-call rotations.
• Deliver features end-to-end, collaborating with senior engineers.
• Serve as a SME for internal components or tools.
• Collaborate in Agile workflows with code reviews and planning.
