Job summary

Compass is hiring a Software Engineer II for the Transaction Journey team in Boston. You will build frontend components for forms and eSign, deliver features end-to-end, and collaborate with product, design, and other teams to create reliable, scalable transaction experiences.

You will contribute to high-quality code, implement tests with Cypress/Jest, and participate in Agile workflows while growing your technical and product sense in a dynamic real estate platform.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-4 years of software engineering experience developing well-tested, high-performance applications.
• 2+ years of experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
• 2+ years of experience with React and NodeJS.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and implementation trade-offs.
• A sheer eye for design and attention to detail.
• Experience with Cypress and Jest testing practices.
• Interest in using AI-assisted development tools in real projects.
• Nice to have: backend experience (Java, Golang, Python) and AWS/cloud familiarity.

Responsibilities
