Job summary

Compass is seeking a Software Engineer II in the Transaction Journey (TJ) organization to build high-impact frontend features for transaction forms and eSign. You’ll collaborate with product and design teams, write maintainable code, and contribute to testing and reliability of critical real estate workflows.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years' experience, strong React/TypeScript skills, and a passion for user-centric design.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-4 years of software engineering experience creating well-tested, high-performance applications.
• 2+ years with TypeScript, Javascript, and HTML/CSS.
• 2+ years with React and NodeJS.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Attention to design and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop core frontend components using React and modern tooling.
• Write high-quality tests to prevent regressions and reduce debt.
• Improve operational metrics and contribute to monitoring and on-call rotations.
• Deliver features end-to-end, collaborating with senior engineers on complex designs.
• Act as a SME for specific internal frontend components or tools.
• Participate in agile workflows, code reviews, and design discussions.
