Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Shortage Control Associate in Chicago to help create a secure, welcoming shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll monitor store entrances, greet customers, and report suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty to reduce theft.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in customer service or retail, can stand for long periods, maintain confidentiality, and communicate clearly with customers and co‑workers.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to monitor store environment.
• Strong, energetic greeting and positive demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers.
• Excellent leadership skills to foster productive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entrances and exits to reduce theft opportunities.
• Identify and report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Provide confident, friendly customer service and greetings.
• Support store leadership with shortage reduction programs.
