Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure, welcoming store environment.

You will position yourself at entrances and high‑risk areas, greet customers with a warm smile, and support loss prevention initiatives through vigilant observation. You will identify theft risks, report incidents to the Manager on Duty, and assist in bag checks while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and visually monitor store environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to foster relationships with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entrances and high‑risk areas to reduce theft opportunities.
• Greet every customer with a warm smile and confident greeting.
• Identify theft risks and report incidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks in accordance with safety and security standards.
• Support training of associates on shortage reduction programs and processes.
