Job summary

The Save Mart Companies in Modesto, CA is hiring a Key Carrier to direct front-end staff in the absence of the Assistant Center Store Manager. You will ensure exceptional customer service, front-end performance, and compliance while maintaining clean, organized front-end and parking lot areas.

You will train and supervise clerks, manage tills and check procedures, perform store balancing, and handle refunds and other front-end duties.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Training and supervision experience.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate staff.
• Good counting and math skills.
• Ability to read and write to complete documentation.
• Knowledge of front-end operations and check stand procedures.
• Knowledge of compliance and basic applicable contract/work rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with a remarkable shopping experience by training and holding staff accountable for excellent service
• Manage front-end performance and productivity (tills, cash handling, check processes, EBT/WIC compliance)
• Direct Clerks and Clerk Helpers with focus on accountability and business performance
• Ensure front-end and parking lot conditions are met (merchandising, cleanliness, carts, bags)
• Perform store balancing and bookkeeping functions
• Handle front-end management tasks (refunds/returns, loans/pickups, check authorizations)
• Monitor customer experience on front-end
• Occasionally manage total store operations in the absence of store management
• Perform other duties as assigned
