Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Service Coordinator to support front-end operations across checkout, service desk, and courtesy areas. You will lead shift handoffs, monitor department activity, and coach team members to meet performance and service goals.

You will also coordinate tasks, drive actions to control shrink and financial outcomes, and champion participation in company programs while ensuring a high quality shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum (includes curriculums for Cashier, Service Desk, and Courtesy Team)
• Ability to operate cash register system and all financial services equipment
• Good communication skills, friendly, customer oriented, organized, detail oriented, sense of urgency
• Has organizational and multi-tasking abilities
• This position may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader or area leader is not present.
• Coordinate and drive actions and activities involving the monitoring and control of shrink and financial business outcomes within areas of responsibility.
• Proactively elevate concerns to leadership as they arise.
• Champion participation in community programs.
• Lead by example with behaviors and team member resource group (TMRG) engagement.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care.
• Perform on-the-job/hands-on team member training and mentoring.
• Serve as subject matter expert for market programs, company pilots, and development/training programs.
• Assign tasks to team members within the department, in partnership with the team leader, and follow up to ensure task completion.
