Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Service Coordinator to ensure a high-quality customer shopping experience by leading front-end operations. The role coordinates checkout flow, maintains standards, and assigns work for cashiers and service desk teams to meet productivity and service goals.

Through active coaching and attentive scheduling, the Service Coordinator drives customer satisfaction and operational efficiency, while upholding accountability for front-end performance.

Qualifications

• Completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum.
• Ability to operate cash register system and financial services equipment.
• Excellent communication, customer oriented, organized and detail oriented.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Physical tasks including lifting, bending and climbing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts.
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader is not present.
• Coordinate and drive actions involving monitoring of shrink and financial outcomes; escalate concerns as needed.
• Champion participation in community programs and lead by example with TMRG engagement.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care.
• Train and mentor team members on the job.
• Serve as subject matter expert for market programs, pilots, and development/training programs.
• Assign tasks within the department and follow up to ensure completion.
