Job summary

The Save Mart Companies in Pleasanton, CA, is seeking a Department Specialist - Key Carrier to lead front-end staff and ensure exceptional customer service during shifts. This role directs front-end teams and coordinates with Center Store, focusing on accuracy, cash handling, and store standards.

The candidate will train associates, supervise cash procedures, and uphold compliance while maintaining a positive shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to train and guide front-end staff.
• Strong supervision and coordination skills.
• Good counting and math abilities for cash handling and reconciliation.
• Ability to read and write accurately for documentation.
• Knowledge of front-end operations and check stand procedures.
• Understanding of compliance and basic contract/work rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with a remarkable shopping experience by training and holding staff accountable for service.
• Manage front-end performance and cashier-related procedures and compliance.
• Direct Clerks and Clerks' Helpers to achieve high business performance in assigned areas.
• Ensure front-end and parking lot conditions meet standards (merchandising, cleanliness, carts, bags).
• Perform store balancing to support exceptional shopping experiences.
• Handle front-end management tasks (refunds, returns, loans/pickups, check authorizations).
• Monitor customer experience on the front-end and adapt as needed.
• Occasionally oversee total store operations in absence of store management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
