Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a Front End Lead to support the Front End Leader by ensuring efficient, safe, and secure checkout operations across all lanes. The role focuses on maximizing guest satisfaction and overall store performance, with annual certification as required.

The Lead will oversee Self Checkout coverage, coach teammates, manage daily schedules, and handle compliance tasks. This position emphasizes strong leadership and a commitment to guest-focused service.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or guest service (1–3 years).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent coverage of Self Checkout activities and ensure all sales are captured with excellent guest service.
• Direct traffic flow for speedy checkout and assist cashiers as needed.
• Create and manage daily schedules and break plans for Front End coverage and program compliance.
• Assist Front End Leader with auxiliary lines of business (gift cards, candy, etc).
• Take ownership of the Front End when the Front-End Leader is not on duty and act as the point person.
• Complete compliance activities daily and own topics such as AML, scale/PIN pad checks, and WIC.
• Order Front End supplies while monitoring costs.
• Train and coach Front End Team Members on efficiencies, service culture, and loss prevention.
