Job summary

Rural King in Bloomington, IN seeks a Front End Department Lead to oversee front-end operations, assist cashiers, and ensure a fast, friendly customer experience at our Bloomington store. You’ll train staff, manage cash handling, returns, and loyalty programs, and collaborate with other departments to keep checkout lines smooth and accurate.

This full-time role requires 3+ years in retail cash handling or supervision, strong organization, and the ability to work a varied schedule including

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail cashier, front-end, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong cash-handling, math, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use POS systems, Microsoft Office, and other retail technology.
• Ability to work a 40-hour week with varied days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and support front-end associates in daily operations.
• Oversee cashier and customer service desk transactions, including returns, exchanges, layaways, price disputes, and tax-exempt purchases.
• Manage cash handling, bank deposits, safe audits, layaway audits, and cash shortage research.
• Support registers as needed and educate associates on company programs, including loyalty, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan.
• Maintain front-end displays, supplies, popcorn, coffee stations, and other customer-facing areas.
• Follow loss-prevention procedures, including EAS deactivation and shrink awareness.
