Job summary

Kroger is seeking a front-end associate to deliver superior customer service and maintain a welcoming store environment. You will greet customers, assist with locating items, manage checkout activity, and support front-end operations to meet sales and safety goals.

Responsibilities include resolving concerns, training staff, handling pricing discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and health regulations in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide).
• Sound judgement/decision making skills.
• Friendly, approachable/d outgoing demeanor and team player.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high level of service and excellent customer experience by resolving concerns.
• Identify opportunities to improve operations and shopping experience.
• Greet customers and assist with product locating, loading and heavy items.
• Anticipate customer needs and respond to questions to strengthen loyalty.
• Oversee front end operations to meet sales, profit and labor goals with cost control and shrink reduction.
• Determine work priorities and maintain front end conditions.
• Ensure prompt checkout and adherence to policies and laws.
• Train, monitor and coach associates on front end policies and procedures.
• Communicate pricing discrepancies to the pricing coordinator.
• Provide back-up coverage for service operations manager when needed.
• Know checkout transactions policies, perform voids, refunds and till audits.
• Operate equipment (scanner, register, scale, etc.) per standards.
• Assist with front-end functions such as stocking, bagging, cart collection and cleaning.
• Comply with food safety, sanitation and safety regulations; report unsafe conditions.
