Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling limits and control loss.
• Follow policies for restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow store procedures for stamps, gift cards, coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; ensure food safety compliance.
• Support safety programs and identify unsafe conditions; notify management.
• Inspect equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
• Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Manage conflict calmly and act with honesty and integrity.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults as needed.
• Perform essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
