Job summary

Kroger in Colorado is hiring for a full-time front-end associate to deliver outstanding customer service and manage checkout operations. You will greet customers, assist with products, and help maintain a clean, efficient store environment.

The role requires teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. Experience in customer service or retail is preferred; MS Word/Excel familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 6 months related experience or training or equivalent.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Sound judgement/decision making skills.
• Friendly, approachable demeanor; a team player.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Good oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by showing sincerity, patience and respect and thanking customers.
• Greet customers genuinely and assist them by guiding to products, loading heavy items, and retrieving out-of-reach items.
• Anticipate customer needs; communicate and resolve issues to strengthen loyalty.
• Oversee front end operations to meet sales, profit and labor goals with cost control; maintain front end cleanliness and sanitation.
• Determine work priorities to maintain front end conditions.
• Ensure prompt, accurate customer check-out and adherence to policies and laws.
• Train and coach associates on front end policies, product handling, scanning, price checks to reduce shrink and waste.
• Communicate pricing/signage discrepancies to the pricing coordinator.
• Provide back-up coverage for the service operations manager when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of checkout transactions and procedures; perform voids, refunds, audits.
• Operate equipment (scanner, register, scale, etc.) per standards.
• Assist with front-end functions including stocking and bagging.
• Comply with safety regulations and report unsafe conditions.
