Job summary

Kroger Co. is seeking a friendly cashier to assist customers and process sales while upholding our values of respect, honesty, integrity and safety. You will deliver excellent service at the checkstand and support store operations.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the desk, processing refunds and money orders, handling lottery service where allowed, maintaining cleanliness, answering phones and complying with policies. Must be able to work weekends and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Six months cashier experience for Customer Service Desk.
• Must be at least 18 years old (19 in some states for specific tobacco sales).
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Knowledge of company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions including open/close, ring sales, tender transactions, bag merchandise.
• Maintain cleanliness of checkstand area.
• Answer telephones and comply with corporate policies.
• Provide refunds, exchanges, money orders, gift cards, and bill pay.
• Offer lottery services where allowed and process licenses.
• Open/close Customer Service Desk and manage desk operations.
• Support store accounting functions and deposits as needed.
• Handle faxes and lost-and-found; manage conflicts professionally.
