Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6 months cashier experience for Customer Service Desk.
• Must be 18+ years old (19+ in certain states if tobacco is sold).
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Regular weekends, various shifts, overtime as needed.
• Organize and prioritize tasks and projects.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, tender transactions, bag items, handle money drops, know produce codes.
• Maintain price discrepancy files.
• Keep checkstand area clean per housekeeping standards.
• Answer telephones.
• Follow corporate policies and company initiatives.
• Ensure EAS tags are deactivated/removed at point of sale.
• Respond to EAS pedestal activations as needed.
• Maintain store accounting functions and prepare bank deposits.
• Open/close the customer service desk and process refunds, exchanges, money orders, transfers, bill pay, gift cards, POs, rentals.
• Provide lottery service and fish & game licenses where allowed; manage faxes and lost & found; run vendor reports.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment; manage conflicts calmly.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information; follow directions.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
