Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a customer-focused associate to assist customers, operate the service desk, and handle cash transactions with accuracy. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Six months cashier experience for the Customer Service Desk.
• Must be at least 18 years old (19 in Idaho/Alaska for tobacco sales).
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Weekend availability and ability to work any shift, with overtime as needed.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage associates to provide excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, complete tender transactions, bag merchandise, money drops, and knowledge of produce codes.
• Maintain price discrepancy logs and ensure accuracy in pricing.
• Keep the checkstand area clean and organized.
• Answer telephones and assist customers.
• Comply with corporate policies and promote company initiatives.
• Verify EAS tags are deactivated/removed at the point of sale; respond to pedestal activations as needed.
• Maintain store accounting functions and prepare bank deposits of excess funds.
• Open/close the Customer Service Desk; process refunds, exchanges, money orders, transfers, bill pay, gift cards, and other services.
• Provide lottery service (excluding Alaska) and issue fish and game licenses.
• Handle faxes, lost and found, vendor reports; assist in a cooperative, sometimes stressful environment.
• Demonstrate honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information.
