Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons) per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling, shortages/overages limits and loss prevention.
• Ensure compliance with item restrictions (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Follow all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and request repairs as needed.
• Create a welcoming environment and help customers with product queries.
• Follow local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced or stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Assist with customers including minors and those with special needs.
