Job summary

YMCA Benbrook is seeking a part-time Member Service Representative to be the first point of contact for current and prospective members, delivering friendly customer service and handling membership inquiries. This front desk role supports administrative tasks, processes memberships and payments, and helps maintain a welcoming facility environment.

Availability for weekday closing shifts (5-10pm) and daytime weekend shifts is required, with open availability preferred to support coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Experience in a community-focused organization or membership-based facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome members, guests, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Provide information about YMCA programs, services, and membership options.
• Assist members with inquiries, registration, and resolving issues.
• Promote YMCA membership benefits and programs to prospective members.
• Process membership applications, cancellations, and changes.
• Handle transactions, including membership fees and program payments.
• Maintain accurate notes, records and member information in the database.
• Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and welcoming.
• Monitor access to the facility, ensuring that only authorized members and guests enter.
• Enforce safety guidelines and implement risk management procedures according to training.
• Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Work collaboratively with other YMCA staff to support overall member experience.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to improving member services. Assist with special events and community outreach as needed.
