Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Practice Assistant for the Float Pool covering Greater Brookline practices. Responsibilities include greeting patients, registering, scheduling, collecting payments, and ensuring smooth patient flow across Jamaica Plain, Brookline, Newton, Chestnut Hill, Wellesley and Chelsea locations.

The role may be full-time or part-time and is benefit eligible. A High School diploma or GED is required; a Medical Admin Assistant Cert is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Certificate 1 Medical Admin Assistant Cert preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems including Microsoft Office and web-based applications is required.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors with courtesy and privacy.
• Serves as central communication source for patient care.
• Performs check in, registration, scheduling, and demographic verification.
• Collects co-payments and manages copayment processing.
• Schedules, reschedules and cancels appointments to accommodate needs.
• Obtains and enters referrals.
• Maintains reception area and flow of patients.
