Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Practice Assistant for the Ambulatory Float Pool. This role supports both administrative and clinical tasks, including greeting patients, check-in, scheduling, and basic medical assisting across multiple clinics.

The assignment varies by location and clinic, with assignments typically lasting 60 to 90 days before rotation to another site. Strong communication and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Medical assisting experience through MA/CNA/LNA/EMT/PCT or related certificate.
• Associate degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
• Current or former nursing/medical student with at least one clinical rotation.
• Familiarity with basic computer and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Performs medical assisting duties including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy and routine procedures.
• Keeps patient care areas clean, organized, stocked and ready for patient use.
• Escorts patients to radiology and lab as needed.
• Monitors and maintains medical equipment and supplies with attention to expiration dates.
• Reviews medication lists in the EMR for clinician final review.
• Enters/scribes orders for tests, services or appointments in the EMR as directed.
• Documents tasks in the EMR during visits to support accurate billing.
