Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Medical Assistant to provide high-quality direct patient care in a team-based model at BIDHC. You will support administrative and clinical operations, assist during visits, update records, and help with population health initiatives.

You will work under supervision, perform vitals, EKGs, phlebotomy as certified, and document tasks accurately in the EHR to ensure proper billing. Strong communication and compassion are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Health Science preferred.
• MA competencies within one year of hire.
• Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care team to support patient flow and care goals.
• Assist during visits: obtain vitals, update records, review PHQ-9 questions.
• Document tasks in the EHR for accurate billing.
• Schedule diagnostic and lab tests and verify insurance.
• Monitor PHI handling and patient safety practices.
