Evergreen Family Medicine in Roseburg, Oregon seeks a friendly receptionist to greet patients, collect insurance details, and manage registrations. You will handle copays, verify benefits, and use Athena to coordinate appointments and communications.

The role requires strong phone skills, confidentiality, and a positive attitude, with a flexible schedule including weekends/evenings; on-site in clinic settings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience answering phones.
• Must be available for any schedule, including weekends and evenings
• Able to maintain the confidentiality of private information.
• Friendly demeanor and positive attitude.
• Basic knowledge of standard medical terminology.
• Cash Handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and direct them to the proper area.
• Collect patient information including insurance and copays.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and policies.
• Follow standards and policies, including regulations.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, managers, and patients.
• Update registration and insurance information; answer phones.
• Verify benefits and eligibility (OHP, DCIPA, Atrio).
• Schedule appointments and create patient cases in Athena.
• Respond to inquiries and provide information.
• Coordinate with outside providers via phone, fax, or computer.
• Keep Athena knowledge up to date; participate in trainings.
• Balance credit card transactions and end-of-day.
• Self-manage, stay on task, encourage others.
• Promote teamwork, positive outlook, professionalism.
• All other duties as assigned.
