Job summary

Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet and register patients, verify insurance, and explain financial responsibilities. Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years college education including Health Records coursework preferred.
• Minimum one year of healthcare experience in Patient Access or equivalent.
• Six months customer service experience required.
• Registrar and third-party payor experience preferred.
• Understanding of health plan and benefit structures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greeting, registering, checking in, and admitting patients per service line.
• Collecting patient demographics and documenting decision-makers.
• Verifying insurance coverage and informing patients of financial responsibilities.
• Guiding patients on accessing financial and insurance resources.
• Collecting copays, coinsurance, deposits, and payments as appropriate.
• Collaborating with Revenue Cycle to ensure accurate records.
• Submitting required legal documentation for compliance.
