Job summary

Montage Health in the United States seeks a Patient Access Representative I to support check-in, registration, transfer and discharge processes, greet patients and visitors, and answer incoming calls.

You will interview patients, doctor offices, and insurers, obtain signatures on financial agreements, explain financial responsibility, collect payments, and enter complete data into the system. Cross-training as charge person or Financial Counselor may occur.

Qualifications

• Clerical experience including typing, filing, answering phones.
• The ability to maintain a positive professional demeanor in a demanding environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred: knowledge of medical terminology, understanding of insurance requirements, two years in health care, and basic coding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Check-in, registration, transfer and discharge functions.
• Greet patients and visitors and answer calls.
• Interview and gather information from patients, doctors, insurance companies, and government agencies.
• Explain financial responsibility and collect payments.
• Enter complete and accurate data using computer systems.
