Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Hartford is hiring a Member Service Representative at Hale YMCA Youth and Family Center in Putnam, CT. You will assist members, handle inquiries, and support membership and program registrations.

Under the guidance of the Membership Director, you will deliver friendly service, operate the front desk, manage schedules, and help with promotions, outreach, and retention while upholding all YMCA policies.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• Basic mathematical skills and able to handle

Responsibilities

• Scans membership ID cards and manages front desk operations.
• Handle day-to-day operations of the front desk (phone calls, emails, memberships, registrations, deposits, etc).
• Provide members with detailed, accurate and timely information on schedules, costs, programs and facility information.
• Strive to be an expert in Daxko and operate the program effectively during high traffic periods.
• Accurately input membership and program registrations into Daxko and process dues/fees.
• Collect and process scholarship applications and recognize pertinent paperwork.
• Answer phones professionally and route calls to appropriate departments.
• Participate in member retention programs, promotional efforts, and fundraising campaigns.
• Open and close the facility according to established procedures.
• Handle emergencies and complete incident reports as required.
• Assist in training and development of new Membership Service Representatives.
• Maintain branch cleanliness, appearance and safety.
• Check staff communication log for daily updates and ensure materials are stocked.
• Communicate pertinent information with the Membership Director and Executive Director.
• Adhere to YMCA policies and ensure members are informed of applicable policies.
• Maintain privacy of members' personal, financial or program information.
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
