Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Guest Services Agent to warmly welcome guests at the front desk, handle check-ins/outs, and assist with reservations. The role emphasizes accuracy in cash handling and guest information security, while delivering Sonesta's renowned service.

You’ll work mornings/evenings, weekends and holidays in a busy hotel environment in Burlington, MA, with opportunities to upsell, coordinate with teams, and grow in hospitality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of previous hotel experience, or retail customer service preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
• ServSafe certification may be required; TIPS certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room location. Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions in accordance with procedures; post charges and prepare deposits.
• Maintain the security of cash, credit card transactions, and guest information.
• Routinely book guest reservations and upsell rooms where possible to maximize revenue.
• Follow seasonal reservation strategy for room pricing and occupancy.
• Promote teamwork and quality service with other shifts and management.
• Serve the shoppe and the pour and comply with local alcohol laws.
• Ensure guest special requests are fulfilled and proper delivery of services.
• Issue, control and release guest safe-deposit boxes.
• Comply with health, safety, and alcohol service laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
