BCS Supply Chain Search in Matawan, NJ seeks a Director of Operations to lead our Operations Department, including Operations Representatives and Customer Success Managers, and the Carrier Safety & Compliance function.

The role owns day-to-day operations execution, driving efficiency, accountability, and scalable processes to support long-term growth. This hands-on leader runs daily operations, team meetings, coaching, and escalations as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of freight brokerage operations experience.
• 3+ years of leadership experience, including coaching and development.
• Hands-on leader who runs daily operations and escalations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Operations Department with clear expectations.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop team members; manage performance and coaching.
• Run regular one-on-ones and performance reviews emphasizing accountability and service.
• Oversee daily freight operations across accounts to maintain efficiency and service.
• Identify bottlenecks and build standardized scalable processes for growth.
• Track department KPIs and address performance trends; handle escalations.
• Serve as operations liaison between Sales and Operations for smooth onboarding.
• Partner with Sales to resolve customer challenges and surface operational opportunities.
• Monitor carrier capacity and market trends to flag risks before customers are affected.
• Support carrier-development initiatives with Safety & Compliance for high-quality network.
• Guide Carrier Vetting SOP and ensure accurate reporting.
• Represent Operations in Leadership Team meetings with KPIs and improvement plans.
• Set annual goals and departmental priorities fostering accountability.
