Job summary

CS Recruiting supports a family-held, North American freight brokerage seeking an Operational Excellence Manager – Freight Brokerage in Haddonfield, NJ. This full-time, hybrid role leads Capacity and Customer Experience teams to drive accountability, operational standards, and customer success.

You will analyze performance, promote best practices, and partner with Business Development to onboard new accounts while maintaining carrier relationships and optimizing profitability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of customer-facing experience within transportation, freight brokerage, 3PL, or supply chain.
• Strong understanding of freight brokerage, 3PL, transportation, and supply chain operations.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing teams.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, make recommendations, and develop strategic plans.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Power BI, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, develop, and mentor Capacity and Customer Experience team members through ongoing training, performance management, and employee development initiatives.
• Drive a culture of accountability by promoting company values, operational standards, and customer service expectations across the team.
• Manage day-to-day transportation operations to ensure consistent execution, service continuity, and adherence to company policies and industry best practices.
• Identify and implement process improvements, SOP enhancements, and technology solutions that increase operational efficiency, productivity, and scalability.
• Partner with Business Development to support customer onboarding, account implementation, and growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership to analyze operational and financial data, identify trends, and develop strategies that improve revenue, profitability, and customer retention.
• Work cross-functionally with Pricing, Capacity Development, and Business Development to align buying and selling strategies with market conditions and profitability goals.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve customer satisfaction, minimize service failures, reduce lost business, and strengthen long-term customer relationships.
• Build and maintain strong carrier relationships by partnering with Capacity Development to improve carrier performance, expand capacity, and position the company as a preferred brokerage partner.
• Attend customer meetings, quarterly business reviews, and industry events to strengthen relationships and identify new business opportunities within existing accounts.
• Manage team resources and make recommendations to ensure the department has the staffing, training, and operational support necessary to meet current and future business demands.
• Leverage data, reporting, and business intelligence tools to evaluate performance, establish goals, and drive continuous improvement across the operation.
