Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area and assist with loading operations. You will operate forklift and pallet jack, verify freight documentation, and secure cargo for trailers.

The role requires the ability to lift heavy loads, tolerate a dock environment, and work in a fast-paced setting. Starting pay is $20.16 per hour, with variable shift times and duties as listed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment, including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials) using current system.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with all laws/regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
