Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area and load/unload trailers. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, verify freight documentation, and secure loads for transit. The role requires staying compliant with rules and coordinating with customers as needed.

The position offers an hourly rate with potential for growth and benefits. The environment is dock-focused with varying shifts and weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry varying weights and operate dock equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
