Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock freight associate to move freight across the dock area, load/unload trailers, and verify shipment documentation. You will operate forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks, secure cargo, and prepare reports in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18, and ideally have warehousing or freight-handling experience. Some hostling duties and customer assistance may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience in warehousing or freight handling preferred.
• Ability to operate hostler/yard duties if required.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Perform freight handling using equipment including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazmat) in system.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
