Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight between dock areas and trailers. You will operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, verify freight documents, and secure loads for transport.

The role requires basic math, strong safety practices, and the ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment. The starting hourly rate is $22.92 with potential to progress to $25.78 depending on experience and location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight up to varying weights several times a week.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck as needed.
• Verify documentation matches freight details and weight.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
