Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock workforce member to move freight across the dock area and into trailers. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, verify freight documents, and secure loads for transport.

The role requires basic math, clear communication, and the ability to lift heavy items. Starting rate is $21.78 per hour with a 1730-2300 shift. Prior warehouse or forklift experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift approximately 100 pounds and open trailer doors with up to 75 pounds lift force.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck as needed.
• Verify freight documents match descriptions.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
