Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock associate to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers. You will operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck while ensuring safe, efficient handling of all loads.

You will verify freight documentation, secure loads inside trailers, and assist customers as needed. Starting pay is $26.41 per hour with shifts 1800-0200, 2100-0500, or 0000-0800; ADA assistance available upon request.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math with or without a calculator.
• Ability to lift/carry varying weights and operate dock equipment.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
